| WHAT IS AN ORGASM? |
(abstracted from the book: "Sex for Dummies" by Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer)
"Unfortunately, some people adopt a take-it-or-leave-it attitude towards Orgasms. But, without Orgasms, probably none of us would be here. After all, it's because men and women seek this intense instant pleasure that people managed to hang onto this planet by reproducting themselves over the millennia. So we have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to Orgasms, and we should'nt take them for granted."
What is an Orgasm, Anyway?
"An Orgasm is an intense feeling in physical pleasure that we human beings experience as the culmination of sexual stimulattion. When we exprerience an Orgasm, your breathing becomes fast and heavy, your pulse rate races, the deep muscles in the genital area contract, and your toes may even curl up. In men, Orgasms is almost always accompanied by EJACULATION, the forceful ejection of semen from the penis, necessary for procreation. Women also feel Orgasm although their Orgasm are not needed for procreation."
IN MAN....... first the prostate, seminal vesicles, and upper portion of the vasdeferences, called the ampulla contract, which forces out the secreations that from the ejaculate;then the muscles that surrounds the penis do their part to actually eject the ejaculate in what is called the Expulsion Phase. The first two or three of these contractions are quite strong and they're followed by some dimishing spurts.
FOR WOMEN....... the uterus and the first third of the Vagina, controlled by the underlying mucles called the Puboccocygeus muscle, incurr the most contractions during orgasms.
The Simultaneous Orgasm
The other Holy Grail of sex is the simultaneous orgasm, when both partners have their ograsms at about the same time. Although it would be great to share the orgasmic moment, it's just not always possible. And striving for the achievement can lead to a lessening of the enjoyment of sex.If the man is always having to ask, "Are you ready, are you close?". it disturbs the woman's concentration and can put her ograsm firther away. Eventually, the man begins to lose interest. So, because of their serach for terrific sex, a couple may wind up with lousy sex.
