COULD YOU RECOGNIZE AUTISM IF YOUR CHILD HAD IT?
WARNING SIGNS

These are among the possible warning signs
of Autism and other
developmental delays in babies and young children.

*** 3 months: Does not smile at people.
Does'nt pay attention to new faces, or seems very
frightened by new faces or surroundings.

*** 4 months:Does not babble.

*** 7 months: Refuses to cuddle. Shows no
affection for caretaker. Does'nt seem to enjoy being around
people. Does not try to attract attention through actions.

*** 8 months: Shows no interests in peekaboo.

*** 12 months:Says no single words. Does not
learn to use gestures, such as waving or shaking head.
Does not point to objects or pictures.

*** 2 years:Walks on toes. Does not speak at
least 15 words or use two-word sentences. Does not imitate
actions or words or follow simple instructions.

*** 3 years:Can't communicate in short phrases.
No "pretend" play. Does'nt understand simple instructions.
Little interest in other children. Extreme difficulty in separating
from mother. Poor eye contact. Limited interest on toys.
